Opal, whose real name is Patrick Lac, a multidisciplinary artist, singer-songwriter, and podcast creator, originally from Ottawa and now rooted in the mountains of Nelson, British Columbia. Previously known as Patrick, he made his mark on the independent folk-rock scene with three self-produced albums: Rorschach (2012), Bridges (2013), Streets of Life (2015), celebrated for their intensity and poetic depth. After performing over a hundred shows Quebec, Ontario, and New England, he paused his career in 2016 to focus on family, becoming a father of three and completing a bachelor's degree in psychology. During this nine-year hiatus, he also dedicated himself to creating impactful content, including his podcast series Franc Ouest, produced in partnership with various media outlets.
